A unique identity

Ca’ dei Frati takes its name from the old Carmelite monastery. It was the friars who planted the first vineyards on the southern shores of Lake Garda, to provide for Mass and for the needs of their community. The Dal Cero family has carried on the work in this former monastery since 1939, and it was here that Progetto Arte Poli was called in to give artistic form to the bond between the place and its past.

The older atmosphere lives on, then, not only in the vineyard and in the work of the winery, but also in the works the studio designed and created.

For the large windows of the winery, Progetto Arte Poli used mouth blown roundels, made as in ancient times: each roundel is blown and spun by hand, a process technology has still not replaced, because of the craftsmanship it requires. The choice was a considered one. This art glass made it possible to recreate the windows typical of monasteries, here in a contemporary form, while their shape and their many shades recall the base of a wine bottle.
