Palazzo Berzieri, built in the early years of the 1900s to house the thermal spa establishment, is a masterpiece featuring Liberty (Art Nouveau) elements with Orientalist and Art Deco influences, thanks to the architects Ugo Giusti and Giulio Bernardini and to the master Galileo Chini, who oversaw its design and aesthetics.
Throughout the twentieth century, the building continued to be the hub of Salsomaggiore’s thermal activities and underwent various maintenance and restoration operations. The most recent intervention, in 2025, is part of QC Terme’s growth strategy, which has made the recovery of historic buildings its development model, and sees our atelier engaged in the restoration of ten glass skylights, along with the windows and wooden frames.

Ogni lucernario è composto da un telaio decorativo in ferro battuto su cui sono incastonate tessere vitree, legate a piombo e stuccate artigianalmente. A differenza dei classici vetri piani, alcune tessere presentano una particolare forma a coppa e si integrano perfettamente alla struttura metallica. Data questa particolarità costruttiva, il restauro è stato eseguito interamente sul posto.
Il restauro degli infissi e delle vetrate delle finestre è avvenuto invece in laboratorio sempre adottando un approccio conservativo orientato alla valorizzazione dell’istanza storica più che estetica.
